Our Mission
Toddler to Scholar Academy is a veteran-owned preschool focused on providing meaningful early childhood education in a nurturing environment. Our mission is to foster cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development in young children through play-based learning and individualized instruction.
We aim to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond by tailoring curriculum to the unique needs of each child. Our teachers promote critical thinking, creativity, and confidence in the classroom through hands-on lessons centered around play, exploration and discovery.
As a veteran-owned small business, we understand the importance of service and leadership. Our goal is to make a positive impact in our Ridgecrest community by giving every child a strong foundation for lifelong learning and growth to promote the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of each child in our care.
Our Programs
At Toddler to Scholar Academy, our child care programs focus on nurturing development through play-based learning. As a startup, we currently offer programs tailored for toddlers and preschoolers.
Our toddler program is designed for children ages 18 months to 3 years old. This program emphasizes social-emotional growth and foundational learning concepts through activities like arts and crafts, music, story time, and supervised play. With a low teacher-to-student ratio, we ensure plenty of individual attention and support.
Our preschool program is for children ages 3-5 years old. With an emergent curriculum, we build upon toddler program foundations by introducing skills like letter and number recognition, early reading, and mathematics. Students engage in hands-on activities that make learning fun and promote critical thinking. Outdoor play time and gross motor development are also daily components.
As a veteran-owned small business, we pride ourselves on leadership, integrity, and service – values that shape our programs. Hello and welcome!
My name is Mrs. Stevani, and I’m the proud Owner of Toddler to Scholar Academy in Ridgecrest, California.
As both a mother and an educator, I founded Toddler to Scholar with one clear vision, to create a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children feel loved, supported, and inspired to grow. Our academy blends the warmth of a home-like setting with the structure and quality of an early education program.
With a strong background in Early Childhood Education and my hands-on classroom experience, I believe that play is the foundation for all learning. Through guided exploration, creative expression, and positive relationships, children develop the confidence and curiosity that set the stage for lifelong success.
As a proud military spouse, I understand the unique challenges and strengths of families who serve. Toddler to Scholar Academy proudly supports our local military community by providing a dependable, family-centered environment where children feel secure and parents have peace of mind.

MEET OUR DIRECTOR
Hello Families and Friends,
My name is Ms.Annette, and I am honored to serve as the Director of Toddler to Scholar Academy. I have been working with children and families for over 14 years, and I truly believe that early education lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning and success.
My journey in early childhood education began at Cerro Coso Community College, where I earned my Associate Teacher Permit. I continued my studies at Taft College, receiving both my Teacher Permit and Associate’s Degree in Early Care and Family Studies, and I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development at Walden University.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with children from infancy through age five in both home-based and classroom settings. My experience spans a variety of educational approaches, including Play-Based and Montessori curricula. I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I provide the highest quality care and guidance to children and families.
As both an educator and a mother, I understand the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel valued and supported. My goal as Director is to build strong relationships with families, promote open communication, and foster a love of learning that lasts well beyond the early years.
